Establish What They Actually Make

Almost no factory makes everything, and a factory that claims to should be probed rather than believed. A bathroom furniture maker will buy in hardware, and probably glass, ceramics and tapware. A shower enclosure maker will buy in profile, glass and rollers. That is normal industrial specialization, not a weakness.
What matters is that the answer is straightforward. A supplier who says clearly "we make the cabinets and the solid surface tops here; faucets and toilets come from these partners" is describing a real business. One who implies everything is made in-house and cannot show the relevant production is describing a trading operation, and there is nothing wrong with that either, provided you know which one you are buying from.
The practical risk of not knowing is responsibility. When a component fails, you want to know who controls the fix.
- Ask which product lines are made on site and which are partner-supplied
- Ask to see the production for the specific items you are buying
- A clear split is a good sign; a vague answer is not
- For partner-supplied items, ask how those factories are selected and controlled
- Establish who is responsible when a bought-in component fails
Input Control Is the Real Control

Most quality failures in bathroom furniture are traceable to inputs rather than to workmanship, and input control is the least visible thing in a factory visit.
For wood furniture, the single most predictive question is how timber moisture content is controlled and verified before machining. A factory that measures and records it, and can tell you the target for your destination climate, is operating at a different level from one that says the wood is dry. For panel products, the question is the grade and the emission class, with documentation. For enclosures, the alloy, the section thickness and the source of rollers and hinges.
None of these require a site visit. They require someone at the factory who can answer them without a pause.

In-Process Checks Beat Final Inspection

A final inspection catches defects. In-process checks prevent them, and the difference shows in cost, lead time and how a supplier behaves when something goes wrong.
Ask where checks happen in the sequence, not just whether there is a QC department. Is moisture content verified before machining, or discovered afterward when a panel cups? Are frames checked for square before finishing, or after, when correction means stripping a finished surface? Is a trial assembly done before packing?
Then ask the more revealing question: what was the last significant quality problem, and what was changed as a result? A factory with real process control will answer it specifically and without defensiveness, because problems are normal and the response is the point. A factory that claims not to have problems is either not measuring or not telling.

People, and Who You Are Actually Buying From

The person handling your enquiry tells you a great deal. Ask a specific technical question with a real answer, such as the drawer clearance around a bottle trap at a stated height, or the glass edge treatment before tempering. Someone who answers directly is inside the production. Someone who always relays the question is outside it, which changes how errors get resolved when time is short.
Finally, verify identity. Check that the legal entity on quotations, certificates and export documents is consistent, and that it is the entity operating the factory you are being shown. Mismatches here are common and are not always sinister, but they matter, because it decides who you have a contract with.
Ask directly what the supplier does not hold, and watch how that question is answered. A supplier who states plainly which certifications they lack is more trustworthy than one who produces a document for every request.
